Rental Prices Rise 13 Percent

International property pollsters Procon Group Companies in his research stated, apartment rental prices in the first quarter of 2011 increased 13 percent to U.S. $ 17.64 per square meter (m2), compared to the same period the previous year of around U.S. $ 15.61 per m2.
The increase in apartment rents occur because of the strengthening of the rupiah against the U.S. dollar that occurred lately. "This is also accompanied by rising demand for apartments," said Prastiana Utami, Head of Strategic Consultancy PT Procon Indah.
Procon also noted, during the first quarter of 2011 as many as 35,700 apartment units supply. This property consultants predict, during the period mid-2011 until 2012 there will be an additional supply of apartment units by 5800. "This is certainly driven by the proliferation of apartment development with the support of domestic economic growth continued to improve," said Lucy Rumantir CEO of PT Procon Indah.
